The "Machine Gun Sight, Type C-3" is listed as a pre-war aircraft gunsight in the NARA Records of the Bureau of Ordnance, 1914 - 1996. The entry shows a date of February 3, 1930, so it is most likely a WW1 through to WW2 sighting system.
