VERY RARE 17th CENTURY NARWHAL CARVING Hispano-Philippine Saint Anthony of Padua with Christ child

Offered here is an extremely rare, and possibly one of a kind, 17th century Narwhal carving of Saint Anthony of Padua holding a book with figure of the Christ child atop. It has original polychrome coloring and stands 7-1/4 inches tall, 3-1/4 the widest point between the outreaching arms, and is approximately 2-1/4 inches in depth.

The carving is attributed to the Hispano-Philippine school of the early to mid 1600s.

CONDITION: The right arm of the Christ child is missing, there is a small loss of material of the left rear shoulder of the Saint Anthony, and his left hand has a small repair.
Cracks are apparent due to the nature and age of the material, and there is some loss of pigment . Otherwise,very good details and condition.
