1986 G.I. JOE MILTON BRADLEY #55 SLUGGER TANK
This is an original Milton Bradley collector card from Series One. Case/blister fresh, removed from the pack and only handled to be scanned and the colors are still vibrant with no marks, back is white.. The G.I. Joe Slugger was a straight cut power house piece of modern artillery that never really had a place in the G.I. Joe universe. The Large Barrel and the brace scoop in the back screamed explosive potential exceeding that of anything built in its time. Thunder was the perfect match for the equipment he piloted. The darkened visor and large muffler headset proclaimed the volume of which the Slugger poured out its wrath upon the enemy. Together they would live in obscurity hanging out in the motor pool waiting on that perfect mission that would allow them to unleash their bottled up destruction
The Slugger is a self-propelled cannon, which is basically a very, very large gun on wheels. This weapon is fantastic for defeating armored foes and installations in battle despite the fact that it is very, very slow moving - and hard to stop once it gets going. The Slugger has these vehicular statistics and capabilities:
.30 Cal Quick-Sequence Machine Gun: a backup of sorts for the Slugger's main gun, this weapon is great for dealing with infantry threats to the vehicle. This gun can be fired to inflict excellent shooting damage in a short burst, or remarkable shooting damage in a full-auto spread.
175mm "Slugger" Howitzer: the main feature of the Slugger is, of course, its Slugger Howitzer cannon. This devastating weapon can fire shells that inflict amazing shooting damage per shot, each of which has a scatter effect, damaging everybody within the area they impact equally well.
These caseless, high-explosive M-437A4 projectiles are typically aimed with an infra-red or electro-optical (radar-seeking) range finder that can be fired with exceptional range. They can hit anything within 35.2 miles.
Nylon/Titanium Honeycomb Armor: the Slugger is a 29 ton hunk of metal. Most of this is engine and gun barrel, of course, but all of the Slugger's exterior is comprised of a nylon-coated titanium steel honeycomb armor.
Quartz-Halogen Shielded Lights: the Slugger is equipped with two front-mounted spotlights that allow it to drive at night - or spot nearby opponents in dark conditions. These lights can illuminate an area with excellent ability, and have grill-shields that protect the bulbs from damage.
Self-Sealing, Run-Flat Tires: finally, the Slugger is equipped with six heavy duty, self-sealing flotation tires. These wheels can withstand up to remarkable damage before being rendered flat, and they can still be driven on at that point; this makes for a rather bumpy ride, however.
