African recycled glass statement necklace. This stunning necklace is made with big Tibetan silver beads and handmade Ghana glass beads. I used big chunky 18mm blue green swirl beads and a large antique silver 18x20mm rhondelle beads to give it distinction. In between each bead I used 12mm antique silver spacer bead discs and 8mm Tibetan silver spacer beads on the end. The length is 19 1/4 inches and it is finished with a large antique silver plated lobster clasp. This beautiful ethnic bead necklace has a tribal style to it and will go with anything.

These beads are made by the Krobo Tribe which is located in Ghana, Africa. Powder glass beads are made by crushing glass to a fine powder and heating it so that the particles fuse together. The glass is then poured into clay molds, with a cassava leaf stem used to make the hole. They are baked in an oven and the glass fuses and the cassava stem burns up. This technique has been used in Africa for centuries.
