African Recycled Blue Glass Statement Necklace, Nepal Handmade Lapis Brass Repousse Heart Pendant

African recycled cobalt blue glass bead statement necklace. This exceptional necklace is made with handmade Ghana glass beads framed with champagne 24K gold color plated brass glossy beads caps. I also added ornate Tibetan antique gold filigree oval beads. I used large chunky 18mm blue African glass beads handmade by the Krobo tribes-people. The focal is an inlaid Tibetan Nepalese repousse handmade inlaid lapis lazuli brass heart pendant approximately 65 x 52mm in size. The ornate Tibetan gold color 22 x 12mm hollow spacer beads add texture and I put gold color 3mm square beads in between. The length is 16 inches with extension chain for a total length of about 19 inches. It is finished with a large Tibetan gold plated "S" clasp. This beautiful ethnic bead necklace has tribal style and is totally unique with the handmade heart pendant. This is a little bit on the heavier side.

These beads are made by the Krobo Tribe which is located in Ghana, Africa. Powder glass beads are made by crushing glass to a fine powder and heating it so that the particles fuse together. The glass is then poured into clay molds, with a cassava leaf stem used to make the hole. They are baked in an oven and the glass fuses and the cassava stem burns up. This technique has been used in Africa for centuries.
