This is a hand-painted plate featuring two scenes of people weaving, I believe. It is signed and has a 24 karat gold trim.
I asked a more knowledgeable individual than myself and was told "The right column says Dai Ni-Hon (Great Japan). Left column is who made it. Sort of kutani style, perhaps done in Yokohama. Probably about 1900."
It has chip and crack and is heavily used - see photos. Not visible from the front.
