The Cortland apple tree produces a McIntosh type apple with sweet vinous flavor, but not all of Mac's perfumery aromatics. The Cortland apple skin is bright red overlaid with darker red streaks. Tart and tangy white crisp flesh; Cortland apples are one of the best salad apples because it doesn't brown quickly. The Cortland apples hang on the tree better than McIntosh, and more crisp in hot weather. The Cortland apple tree is well-suited to freezing temperatures. The plant you are buying is 1 year old. Plant is growing in individual pot. Grafted to Malus Domestica root stock. Will grow to full size tree, provide space. Shipping it with roots wrapped in wet media during dormancy (November-April), in pot with soil April through October. It is recommended to pot it or plant it in open ground promptly when you receive it in spring time. if Received during summer - keep it in the container till dormancy so it can be planted in open ground safely for the plant without root disturbance. Keep roots moist all the time.
Plant will be sent secured in the box. It has developed good root system and ready to be transplanted to the permanent location.
I prefer to mail plant material on Monday or Tuesday (Rather beginning of the week) - only to assure that it will not sit on a shelf in the post office over the weekend. Please check your State local laws for plants entry. Due to U.S.D.A. regulations, some plants cannot be shipped to TX, FL, AZ, HI, CA, Puerto Rico.
