Lostman's Bayou provides a welcome haven for attractive Anita Barzatti and her young son, Tony.  She has fled to this peaceful Mississippi town on the Gulf Coast to escape the horrible memories of the past.  It was only a year ago that her crazed husband, Angel, tried to kill her in a hit-and-run accident on a Brooklyn street.  Her body was finally healed, yet the memories still linger.  Her only peace is knowing Angel is locked away forever in a mental institution.
