Each month was assigned a flower.
In this case, the 1th month, January, is Carnation.
Signed 900-2 and Violet indicating the series, month, and flower.

Kirk Stieff, America's oldest silversmith, was famous for introducing Repousse to America. Repousse is a design made by hammering the metal from underneath. Kirk also developed a magnificent pattern known as "Repousse".
