Original vintage architectural trade magazine ad for OTIS ELEVATOR COMPANY of New York City, NY. Otis Automatic Push-Button Elevator. Method of Operation. By pressing a button placed in a hallway, the car is bought to that floor, stopping automatically when opposite the landing. Inside the car we place a bank of buttons, which are numbered to correspond with the various floors. By momentarily pressing one of these buttons the passenger operates the car to the desired landing. Over a thousand of the finest residences throughout the world are equipped with elevators of this type. All the comfort and convenience so long demanded for transporting persons from one floor to another in Residences, with the necessity of an operator and the danger as in ordinary elevators entirely eliminated.
