Patsy Dougherty was one of the more interesting players of the first decade of the 20th century. Dougherty was a fairly consistent hitter, accumulating nearly 1,300 hits and finishing his career with a lifetime .284 batting average. In 1903, Patsy helped lead Boston to a World Series victory, becoming the first MLB player to hit two (2) home runs in a single World Series game. Earlier that same season, Patsy had batted for the cycle on July 29, 1903. Dougherty would later help New York win a World Series championship in 1906. In 1908, he led the AL in stolen bases while playing for Chicago.
