This is an absolutely gorgeous art to wear jacket, despite a tiny flaw in the neck trim. On the trim, there is a spot where it looks like there is a tiny separation in the silk and the white from underneath the trim is showing through. This flaw is small, and looks like it could possibly be corrected by a person good at this type of thing. Please see the close up photos of the collar for a visual of this. The photos show the white spot on the trim, which is the underneath showing through.
This jacket was done by silk artist Joyce Fogle. The silk embellishments on this jacket are made of hand-dyed silk.
There is no size tag in this jacket. The jacket measures approximately 20.5 inches from underarm to underarm, measured across the back of the jacket.
The length of the jacket is approximately 22 inches long, measuring from the center back of the jacket, from where the collar starts, but not including the collar, to the hemline.
The body of the jacket is 100% wool and the trim is 100% silk.
The background color of the jacket is a dark black. Some of the photographs may make it look lighter than it actually is.
The fabric, being a black wool, seems to have a tendency to pick up lint.
The jacket buttons up the front and has long sleeves.
The buttons are gorgeous with a black flat main button and a small red bead in the center of the button.
The collar is asymetrical. It is hard to describe, but only one side has a normal collar like extension. The other side does not. Please view the photos of a visual of this unusual collar.
