These shoes are absolute TOPS for those suffering from plantar fasciitis and heel spurs and while Birkenstock makes no claims to curing these, I can speak from personal experience having gone through extreme foot pain, orthotic insoles and cortisone shots. I discovered Birkenstocks 17 years ago and have been pain free ever since - and podiatrists DO recommend.
