3 Pt. Fresherator Jar

Well, here’s a great nostalgia piece for you. An old Fresherator refrigerator jar straight out of the ’30's or ’40's.
Two different companies made Fresherator jars:
Silex in the 1930’s and San Francisco Home Container Corp. in the 1940’s.
The Silex Fresherators seem to have been intended as cannisters, have glass lids, and are embossed “Silex Fresherator.”
The Home Container Corp. Fresherator jars, like this one, are refrigerator jars, embossed “Fresherator,” and originally had aluminum Press 2 Seal lids.

Clear glass storage jar, (No lid) This jar is the large 3 pint size, with markings on the back indicating the 1, 2, and 3 pint levels. The front has the “Fresherator” script in a banded
rectangle that descends into the 1-1/2" stippled border encircling the bottom portion of the jar. The jar stands 7-1/4" tall with a base and outer rim of
4-5/8" diameter. Inner rim mouth diameter is 3-1/8". Bottom is marked with an S followed by an interlocking G and C followed by a zero.
It also carries the number 3860 with an additional 3 underneath. It has long since lost its lid but is in otherwise perfect condition with no nicks, chips,
cracks, or scratches.
