Missing outer clad dime. Mint error, error coin. Gorgeous, pristine, rare, unique, double clad is mostly missing on both sides. Beautiful one of a kind genuine coin with missing double clad.
Weight ~1.4 grams. Normal weight should be 2.27 grams. Thinner than regular dime.
Coin date: 1972
Quantity of this type minted: Estimated to be 1
Missing most of the outer raised rim, but it has the normal reeded edges, but it also has a smaller diameter than a normal dime. According to the US Mint site, the reeded edges are made with a collar during the coining.
What little outer clad that is there is completely bonded and there's no visible flaking or cracking.
Nice frosted complexion, fuller cheeks, lightly struck and it appears to be centered despite it's smaller size. Less details in the hair, ear, face because of the lighter strike. Authentic mint error coin.
Self-rated as un-circulated. Excellent condition, no noticeable wear or scratches despite not having the raised outer rim. Appears to be peerless for this type of error and condition.
This is the rarest of the rarest since it's missing both clads as described in:
