This listing is a gorgeous bread plate with bold varying shades of pink roses in excellent condition. The flowers have green leaves and the background of the plate shows light and dark green shades that emphasize the beauty of the flowers. To finish the spectacular detail the edge of the plate has a gorgeous wide gold trim. The plate has 12 equal sides.
This plate has been on display and periodically washed, not used! The background is more of a lighter color than shown in the picture.
The "RS" is derived from the founder, Reinhold Schlegelmilch, but it was the work of his sons, Arnold and Ehrhard that made the mark famous. With factories in Suhl and Tillowitz, a majority of their production was exported from 1892 until the beginning of World War I. The Suhl factory closed before the end of World War I; the Tillowitz factory remained operational until the beginning of World War II.
