We believe you will love this book! When was the last time you couldn’t put down your mandolin because you wanted to hear a piece just one more time? This collection of nineteen Balkan tunes is the best game in town...... Now please read on. My father was born in Montenegro, a small country in the heart of the Balkans. He was a poet, and a Guslar. A Guslar is someone who sings epic songs and plays a gusla, a bowed string instrument . Having grown up with his traditions, music and dance was part of our everyday life. Dancing the kolos with a Tamboritza band was often part of a summertime weekend experience. The music always stuck with me and because of it my attraction and love for ethnic folk music grew. “Balkan Music for Mandolin” is our way to share this wonderful but often overlooked music with you. This music also works on the Bouzouki.
