The Bruins prevailed over the Washington Capitals by a 6-3 margin. Cam Neely led the Bruins attack with goals number 49 and 50 on the season. The 50th goal tied a record held by the immortals of the game.
A second period dust-up involved Jamie Huscroft and Craig Berube. The winning goalie was Jon Casey (29 saves) and the Caps used Don Beaupre (14 saves) and Olaf Kolzig (5 saves.
