Jefferson, York County, Pennsylvania Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary community organization fundraiser recipe book 50th Anniversary cookbook. This dated copyright 1995, 4th Edition 1996, recipe book measures approx 6-3/4”x 9” with 70 pages, including Index, Hints/Tips, Charts, pages for Notes and Favorite Recipes, and a perforated 4-page Coupon Section that includes coupons that expired in 1996. The pages in this cookbook are of better quality paper than most.

Charming Pennsylvania Dutch motif covers that coincide with the PA Dutch recipes! Colorful photos illustrate each of the 7 Table of Contents categories ... APPETIZERS, PICKLES, RELISHES ~ SOUPS, SALADS, VEGETABLES ~ MAIN DISHES ~ BREADS, ROLLS, PASTRIES ~ CAKES, COOKIES, DESSERTS ~ CANDY, JELLY, PRESERVES ~ BEVERAGES, MICROWAVE, MISCELLANEOUS and each of those dividers has a corresponding EXTENDED TAB for quick reference! No ads and is full of typed-format recipes, pages bound by plastic spiral, and recipes contributors names are included - - - and with a book so good that it’s into the 4th edition printing - - - and with approx 68 different contributors, plus the Auxiliary’s 6 recipes, you KNOW there is a good variety of MANY good recipes!

SAMPLE RECIPES:

CHIEF BRILLHART’S HOT CHILI
10 to 15 lb ground beef
4 (40 oz) cans kidney beans
4 (28 oz) cans stewed tomatoes
3 large onions, chopped
3 large sweet peppers, chopped
2 (28 oz) tomato sauce
4.0 oz Mexican hot chili powder
1.5 oz cayenne pepper
0.5 oz crushed red pepper
0.5 oz oregano
Brown ground beef (add part of spices when browning). Add other ingredients to large stock pot. Bring to boil. Add browned ground beef and let simmer 3 to 4 hours. Makes 15 quarts

This one caught my eye because it sounds unique and simple:

PEACH POT PIE
1 qt peaches with juice
1 pkg broad or bow tie pot pie
2 to 3 Tbsp white sugar
1 Tbsp margarine
Put in deep kettle and cover with water. Cook on medium heat for 1/2 hour until pot pie is soft.

HUSBAND’S DELIGHT
8 oz wide noodles
1-1/2 lb lean ground beef
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
3 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
1 Tbsp sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 cup cottage cheese
1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup dairy sour cream
3 to 4 green onions, chopped
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Cook noodles according to package directions. Cook ground beef, green pepper, and garlic until the beef is browned. Drain the fat; add tomato sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir in the noodles; combine cottage cheese and cream cheese. Add sour cream and green onion. Layer half of the noodle mixture into a greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Top the layer with the cottage cheese mixture and the remaining noodle ixture. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Bake, uncovered, in a 350-degree oven for 30 minutes or until heated through. Serves 8.

AMISH-STYLE CHICKEN CASSEROLE
1/2 (16 oz) pkg PA Dutch egg noodles
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup thinly sliced mushrooms
1/3 cup flour
2 cup chicken broth
1 cup milk
Parsley
Salt and Pepper
2 cup cut up cooked chicken
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. In large skillet, melt butter and cook mushrooms until tender. Blend in flour; gradually add broth, milk, parsley, and salt and pepper, stirring constantly until sauce is thickened. In greased 2-1/2 quart casserole, combine noodles, chicken, and sauce; top with cheese.
Bake 20 minutes. Serves 6 to 8

(Insurance is automatically included for up to $50 for Priority shipments.) If item is insured, but was received damaged, it is imperative to keep ALL SHIPPING MATERIALS should you need to make an insurance claim. All parcels include a tracking number, and you will be emailed that number upon shipment, so we both can monitor its journey to you. Please notify me if your item is not received.
