Midnight Express is based on the true story of Billy Hayes' five years in a brutal, sadistic prison for trying to smuggle hashish out of Istanbul in 1970. With no release in sight, Hayes donned a prison guard uniform then escaped Turkey through an underground railroad the prisoners called the Midnight Express. See our YouTube upload for a scene here!
