"Trekkies the world over never tire of watching the lighthearted Star Trek adventures that introduce those furry creatures called Tribbles - delightful pets that spread happiness wherever they go. The trouble with Tribbles, as the crew of the Enterprise soon learns, is that Tribbles are born pregnant. All they do is eat and multiply, and the more they eat, the faster they multiply. Captain Kirk and his crew find themselves up to their necks in Tribbles during a mission to transport a rare wheat grain, which happens to be the delicacy of delicacies to Tribbles, to a federation planet over the objections of the Klingons. Quickly, however, both the Space Station K-7, which the Enterprise is sent to protect, and the starship itself are overrun with Tribbles, and that's just one of the troubles with Tribbles in writer David Gerold's hugely popular and comically offbeat Star Trek adventures starring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy."

"Life abroad the Enterprise has never been as perilous as when time starts running out for Spock and 'Bones' McCoy in their desperate attempt to locate Captain Kirk who is lost in space. He and a missing Federation ship, the Defiant, onto which he has beamed himself have disappeared from view while the Enterprise is gradually being engulfed in an alien web causing insanity among its crew members. A power loss has left Kirk stranded on the Defiant after the rest of his boarding party returned to the Enterprise following the discovery that the Defiant's crew is dead, and now the captain is in limbo between two universes. A Tholian ship, an outlaw craft from an unfriendly planet, has reappeared after destroying the Defiant and attacks the Enterprise, weaving a deadly web around it, and Spock is helpless to fight it for fear of disturbing the space in which he hopes to recover Kirk - or his body."
