What a unique idea.
Start a GREAT tradition for the future BRIDE.
Would be a great conversation piece at a baby shower.
They are simply made and don't take much time, when baby no longer needs the bonnet, a few stitches can be undone to turn it into a handkerchief again.
THEN, when she is a BRIDE, she can carry the handkerchief as SOMETHING OLD.
A tiny lace edge often comes on hankies, or can be added inexpensively and easily, or your favorite edge can be added with silk or tatting thread. You can also use material the size of hankies.
