This is a very nice trinket or jewelry box in a victorian style design. The beveled lid has eight victorian scenes with four of them being different. They are very detailed. The background color is in white, and they are framed in gold with raised dots. The gold was painted past the center top gold design. The beveled top center is also framed in gold with light yellow as the background color, and a gold design in the center. It is glazed except on the underside edge.
The bottom part has four shapely legs trimmed in gold. Around the outside it has gold designs all the way around on a light yellow background. It is glazed except the bottom feet, top edge going down into the inside about 1/4", and the bottom edge. There are some very small deposits of paint or ash under the glaze on the bottom.
BACKSTAMP: The blue beehive mark was registered in Japan and is from 1957.
CONDITION: There is some wear and discoloration on the gold. One of the dots has gold missing on the lid. There is also a light scratch in the yellow part on the lid that can be seen on close inspection. There is some very small pin size sink holes that can be found on these older pieces. No cracks, chips, or repairs.
Measurements: It is 4 5/16" wide x 5 7/16" long x 2 3/4" high.
Actual weight before packing is 11.5 oz. It will ship around at 1.8 lbs. After packing I can give a better shipping weight. Wait untill I send the invoice before purchase.

I always use a new or good box plus plenty of bubble wrap, peanuts, and 2" packing tape. In my nearly 7 years of shipping I have not had a broken piece yet. But, Most of the handling depends on the postal carrier. I place fragile labels on the box to notify the carrier of the contents.
The insurance charge for this item is $ 1.70 and not included in the stated shipping quote.
If insurance is not added to this order I cannot be responsible for damaged or lost items. You will recieve delivery confirmation. I use USPS for shipping and will use Parcel post for this item.
