This is a very unique creamer with Commodore Bainbridge in black on the front of a dark mustard color background. On the top of the handle is a raised flower design. Commodore Bainbridge lived from 1774-1833. He recieved his commission in 1798. During the war of 1812 he commanded the U.S. Frigate " Constitution". At the age of 14 he went to sea in a merchant vessel and by 1798 had acquired so much naval training that he was appointed commander of the U.S. ship " Retaliation". The creamer has history, and very nice to add to a collection. It was made in England.
Backstamp information: J. H. Weatherby & Sons (Ltd). The company was founded in Tunstall in 1891 and moved to Hanley the following year. They first made domestic ware such as basins & ewers, later moving into tableware & giftware.
Condition: There is no wear, and appears to have never been used. It does have some fine crazing. No cracks, chips, discoloration, scratches, or repairs.
If you have any questions please contact me, and I will try my best to answer them.
Measurements: 4" tall x 3 7/8" across from spout to handle x 2 1/2" across the base.
Actual weight before packing is 5.1 oz. It will ship around 1 lb. Contact me with your zip code for a shipping quote.
I always use a new or good box plus plenty of bubble wrap, peanuts, and 2" packing tape. In my nearly 7 years of shipping I have not had a broken piece yet. But, Most of the handling depends on the postal carrier. I place fragile labels on the box to notify the carrier of the contents.
The insurance charge for this item is $ 1.70 and not included in the stated shipping quote.
If insurance is not added to this order I cannot be responsible for damaged or lost items. You will recieve delivery confirmation. I use USPS for shipping and will use Parcel post for this item. This will help to keep the shipping charges down. All international customers must contact me for a shipping quote.
After an item has been paid for it will be shipped within two business days. There is a small handing fee to help pay for the packing materials and fuel to go to the post office.
I have a hundred or so of china yet to list. Stay in touch to see my unique collection. Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day.
