This is a very nice cup and saucer made in England called Duchess signed Fern Rose. They have a crown of England, and are in colors of pink roses, green, and lavender leaves. The lightly scalloped top edge, bottom foot, and handle top, and end of the cup have gold trimming. The saucer gold is on the lightly scalloped edge. Both have a matching # 448.
It was made by A.T. Finney & Sons (LTD) Longton, Staffordshire, England. 1961-present.
Condition: It is in new condition with so very little gold wear, and not noticeable. The center of the saucer has three very small thin light scratches that can only be seen on close inspection.
Measurements: The cup is 2 7/8" high x 3 3/8" across the top not including the handle. Saucer is 5 1/2" across x 3/4" high.
Actual weight before packing is 9.1 oz. It will ship at 1.8 lbs.
I always use a new or good box plus plenty of bubble wrap, peanuts, and 2" packing tape. In my nearly 7 years of shipping I have not had a broken piece yet. But, Most of the handling depends on the postal carrier. I place fragile labels on the box to notify the carrier of the contents.
The insurance charge for this item is $ 1.70 and is not included in the stated shipping quote.
