Welcome To Collectable-tyme Estate Sales
This is a very elegant Rare cup and saucer made in Czechoslovakia with a dark green backstamp that dates between 1925-1939. The very wide cup is decorated around the top inside that flows down into the cup. There is floral sprays, honey comb panels, and a dark yellow, or tan scrolls. The outside has a raised scroll design trimmed in gold starting around the middle down to the beautiful scroll, and scalloped foot. Around the top area of the cup are three sprays of flowers. The handle is trimmed in gold on both sides, and down the outside. The top edge is also trimmed in gold, but not as shiny as the rest. It appears that it was not fired after it was painted on, or meant to be this way. Liquid gold is dull until it is fired up at a high degree of heat.
The saucer also has the floral sprays, honey comb panels, and dark yellow, or tan scrolls. It has panels of three raised or ribbed sections around the middle flowing down into the center. The gold trimmed edge has a nice elegant scalloped design.
Condition: Nearly perfect, but no china is perfect. The cup does have a tiny spot of gold missing on the rim that you will see in a photo. If you did not know is was there you would not notice it. The saucer also has a tiny spot of missing gold on the edge top side. These could have been created when they were painted because there are no scratches, chips, cracks, discoloration, or repairs.
Czechoslovakia dates back to 1918. The McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 required that the name of the country where the ceramic was originally made must be printed on each piece. Sometimes country names were used as part of the mark before 1891.
Measurements: The cup is 4 1/4" across the top not including the handle x 2 3/16 " high. The saucer is 6 1/4" across x 3/4" high.
Actual weight before packing is 8.7 oz. It will ship at 1.8 lbs.
I always use a new or good box plus plenty of bubble wrap, peanuts, and 2" packing tape. In my nearly 7 years of shipping I have not had a broken piece yet. But, Most of the handling depends on the postal carrier. I place fragile labels on the box to notify the carrier of the contents.
The insurance charge for this item is $ 1.70 and is not included in the stated shipping quote.
If insurance is not added to this order I cannot be responsable for damaged or lost items. You will recieve delivery confirmation. I use USPS for shipping and will use Parcel post for this item. This will help to keep the shipping charges down. If you would like to send me your zip code I can check the shipping quote for a better charge.
After an item has been paid for it will be shipped out within two business days. There is a small handing fee to help pay for the packing materials and fuel to go to the post office.
I have a hundred or so of china yet to list. Stay in touch to see my unique collection. Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day.
