This is a nice vintage hanging brass and porcelain plate. Backstamp in gold was first produced in 1953. The brass has an open lattice design with impressed vine in the middle of each. It does have some tarnish, and or wear in places, but will display nicely. The center is very colorful with the victorian couple. On the bottom it states "Cries Of London - Fine Black Cherries". Also, you will see in a picture where a small spot has turned light brown next to where the "Cries Of London" is located. There are some small light scratches in the brass around the edge mostly in one area. It also has a very secure area to use for hanging that was cut out of the brass. This can be seen on close inspection. No chips, cracks, repairs.
Measurements: It is 8 3/8" across x 3 5/8" across the middle porcelain x 1 1/2" high.
Actual weight before packing is 5.6 oz. It will ship at 1.8 lbs.
I always use a new or good box plus plenty of bubble wrap, peanuts, and 2" packing tape. In my nearly 7 years of shipping I have not had a broken piece yet. But, Most of the handling depends on the postal carrier. I place fragile labels on the box to notify the carrier of the contents.
The insurance charge for this item is $ 1.70 and is not included in the stated shipping quote.
