This necklace, earrings, and ACEO card set features the Red Maneki Neko (Japanese Lucky Cat). Red Nekos are noted for their ability to ward off illness, and they are able to multi-task, they are also credited with chasing off evil sprits (like Black Neko) and also are said by some to be helpful in matters of love & romance (like Pink Neko). A hand painted porcelain red Neko bead as the focal point of the necklace. And this little red fellow is being helped along by a group of Lucky Ladybugs! Strung with the red Neko bead are Jet fire polished Czech glass beads, red glass beads, lampwork Lucky Ladybug beads, and shiny gunmetal seed beads. This necklace measures approximately 26 1/4" long & clasps with a silver plated barrel clasp. Red Neko bead drop measures approximately 1 3/8" tall. The matching earrings included with this necklace each feature Czech glass beads, a lampwork Lucky Ladybug bead, and gun metal seed beads. Their drops measure approximately 1 1/4" from their silver plated French hook wires.
The accompanying ACEO card (which stands for Art Cards, Editions & Originals) is created from original artwork by me, DS Irvin, it is titled "Red Neko on Cushion" and depicts a Red Maneki Neko Lucky Cat with paw raised, holding a good luck coin, seated on a cushion floating through a night sky. The card says "Protection from Illness" on the front.
Card information is printed on the back of the card, along with the title of the piece and date it was created. They are hand signed "DS Irvin" which is how I sign my original prints and artwork and are hand numbered, this one is #2. The description for this artwork reads: "Red Maneki Neko (Japanese Lucky Cat) is said to protect from illness. This cat is also the multi-tasker of the group, like Black Neko he is also said to ward off evil spirits and like Pink Neko is sometimes given credit to bringing luck in matters of love & romance."
This ACEO measures the standard 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" and is laminated. This card is an Open Edition. I choose to laminate cards which are prints and don't include any hand enhancing or painting as it makes them far more durable, increasing their longevity, and enriches the colors.
This necklace & matching earrings will be arriving at their destination safely tucked in a gift box accompanied by the ACEO card which will be packaged seperately.
