The color of this blazer is a dark black. Some of the listing photos may make it look lighter than it is. There are no spots on the outside fabric of the jacket; any spots in the photo are from the camera. The jacket could probably use a lint brushing, however.
The permanent labels inside the jacket at the neckline say: Jones New York. Another label gives the size as a 12, and a third label says Made in USA with fabrics of mixed origins. There are a few tags on the side seam of the jacket lining. One of the tags says dry clean, and one says made in USA; fabric of mixed origin; and gives fiber content as: body 100% worsted wool, and trim 100% cotton. I am not sure what worsted wool is, but this fabric does have a nice weave and texture to it.
This jacket does not look as if it has been worn much. The jacket has a stand up collar. The collar is trimmed in black velvet, and a band of gold and red. The sleeves have trim in the same colors as the collar. The jacket buttons up the front, with gold toned buttons, which look very slightly tarnished. The buttons have an attractive crest design on them.
The jacket is a double breasted style. The jacket could be worn either fully buttoned up, or with the top button open, to create an open collar effect. The jacket has princess seaming, front and back. The jacket is fully lined. The jacket is on the shorter side. The length measures approximately 20.5 inches, measuring from the center back, where the bottom of the collar starts, to the hem of the jacket.
