On Hold Womens Hyland Wool Kilt Kilted Skirt M Unworn

This listing is for a women’s Hyland brand wool kilt, or kilted skirt. The label says ‘Hyland Tailored in Scotland.’ There is a small tag with the numbers 28 on it. That may be for the size of the skirt. This is a wrap type skirt. I measured across the waistband, and the measurement was approximately 15 inches across the top front of the waistband. Therefore, that measurement would be doubled to get the approximate waist size. I do not know what size that is, but I am going to list this as a M. However, the fit can be adjusted on this skirt. There are four holes in each of the two leather buckles that fasten the skirt closed, and I buckled this at the third hole over on each one. There are three other settings on each leather strap that can be used to adjust the fit of the skirt slightly. There are two holes to make it tighter, and one more to make it bigger. Please check the measurements to be sure this skirt is the size you are looking for. The length of the skirt is approximately 26.25 inches. The fabric is wool. There is a woolmark tag that says ‘Pure New Wool.’ The fabric is thinner tightly woven wool. The fabric has beautiful colors in it. The fabric is just gorgeous. This skirt looks to be very well made. The center front of the skirt is not pleated. The pleats don’t start until the sides of the skirt, and then they continue on the back. The bottom edge of the pleats is stitched down by basting stitches, evidently to be unstitched by the purchaser. This would indicate to me that this skirt has never been worn, and indeed, even without that, it does not look to me as if it has been worn. The pleats are stitched down along the length of the skirt for approximately 6.5 inches, measuring from the bottom of the waistband, then, they are unstitched so as to be loose pleats. The third photo down shows the back of the skirt, with the pleats. If you look at the bottom, you can see the basting stitches holding the shape of the pleats. I am not going to undo that stitching. If I did undo the stitching, the pleats would probably be more obvious. If you look at the bottom of the first photo, you can also see the pleats at the back of the skirt, at the hem. The front side of it has a frayed edge and fastens with two silver toned buckles. The frayed edge continues all the way down to the hem of the skirt, where it tapers off at the very bottom. This can be seen in the close up photo of that area. There is another buckle for closing on the other side, at the waistband. Please note that all of the buckles have pitting and discoloration to their surface. Please take note of this and do not bid if it is a concern. The leather straps for the buckles are thick black leather, and do not look worn at all. However, they do seem dry, and there is some cracking where they bend at the buckle. I buckled all the leather straps into the buckles, at the third setting, to take the photo. There are no stains or holes in the fabric that I can see. There are some coat hanger clip marks on the waistband, where the fabric is slightly flattened. I am not familiar with kilts, so please ask any questions on items I have not addressed, or that are not clear. This appears to be a gorgeous, extremely well made skirt.
