The Bruins prevailed by a 6-5 margin. Goal scorers for the Bruins were: Phil Esposito (plus 3 assists), Ken Hodge (plus an assist) Tom Williams, John Bucyk (plus 2 assists), Ted Green, and Glen Sather.
Kings scorers were: Bill White (2 goals 1 assist), Ted Gray, Dave Amadio, and Lowell MacDonald.
Gerry Cheevers turned aside 29 of 34 shots and Wayne Rutledge kicked out 26 of 32 shots.
