Scarce cookbook of community recipes, history and art compiled by Junior Woman’s Club of Mechanicsburg PA Pennsylvania In Honor of the 1976 Bicentennial titled Heritage Kitchens of Mechanicsburg. It’s dated September 1975, Second Edition, 1000 copies and measures approx 6-1/2”x 9” with 210 pages and cardstock covers securely bound with easy-turning plastic spirals. Cookbook, printed by Red Land Graphic Arts Club, contains Table of Contents and Index with no hints/tips page fillers. There are approx 328 recipes and 121 unique contributors ... a good variety of MANY good recipes!

Condition: Covers & Pages are Good. I checked EVERY page to enter all the names! (I include ALL names in ALL fundraiser-type cookbooks because I know how frustrating it is to hope and wonder if specific contributors/recipes are included in a book, only to find out they’re not, upon receipt.) Covers (only the slightest spot & corner areas wear on back cover & upturn of corner-tips on front cover above/below spiral), pages are clean with no tears or chips (a few semi dog-ear corners), no highlighting. Only writing is on page 153 a pencil check mark & “very crumbly” at Russian Teacakes recipe and on page 155 pencil check mark at Pecan Tarts recipes. Do Not Buy This Book IF the art descriptions/sketches are your main purpose of purchase ... some are missing. Also, other pages appear missing because of chronological missing page numbers at bottom of pages BUT there are no recipes listed in the Index for those “missing” pages. Therefore, could very well be printing errors & omissions, and not missing pages from previous owner . . . so I’ve listed this cookbook at a discounted price, despite it taking me just as many HOURS to enter the names/recipes as my other fundraiser-type higher priced cookbooks.
