All aquatic plants are shipped bare root. Aquatic plant fertilizer is included for each waterlily purchased and illustrated planting and care directions are included with every order.
2021 Season - Tropical Plant Shipping Schedule:
(A) Day-blooming tropical waterlilies shipping starts week of May 10, 2021.
(B) Night-blooming tropical waterlilies shipping starts week of May 24, 2021.
(C) Tropical bog plants shipping starts week of May 10, 2021.
All live plants are shipped via USPS Priority Mail or UPS Second Day Air.
We accept PayPal (including e-checks and major credit cards) as well as personal checks and money orders.
PayPal and credit card payments usually post immediately. PayPal is easy, safe and allows the fastest possible shipping of orders.
E-checks, personal checks and money orders must clear the bank before we can ship your order (usually 2-5 business days)
We need to receive your payment within 7 days of purchase unless special arrangements have been made.
LOCAL PICKUP / PAYMENT: You can also pay for your plants and pick them up yourself at our nursery in southern Arizona. Please contact us if this is your intention so we can cancel shipping charges and give you directions to the nursery and how to set up payment.
Living materials (aquatic plants, fish, frogs, tadpoles, and snails) are shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays ONLY. This is to ensure delivery by the end of the week. All other merchandise is shipped Monday-Saturday. Orders for non-living merchandise are usually shipped within 24-48 hours after receiving cleared payment.

In order to ensure the highest quality aquatic plants and livestock, all orders must be pulled and packed on an individual basis. While this may mean waiting a few more days for your package/s to arrive, it also means the plants and/or animals you order will be of the highest quality and shipped on a schedule to ensure their safe transport to you. With more than 30 years of experience in shipping live plants and animals behind us, you can rest easy your order will arrive alive and healthy!
LIVING MATERIALS ARE SHIPPED MONDAY-WEDNESDAY ONLY so please take this into consideration when ordering and paying. (i.e. Please do not order on Tuesday afternoon and expect your order will ship out Wednesday morning... it most likely will not ship until the following week.)
LOCAL PICKUP - Customers are welcome to visit our nursery in southern Arizona to select their own plants and fish. Please contact us if this is your intention so we can cancel shipping charges and give you directions to the nursery. Due to our shipping schedule, the best days to visit the nursery are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Aquatic Plant Guarantee: Sonoran Water Gardens guarantees all plants to be healthy, vigorous growers and true to their botanical name and variety. All of our plants are backed by a one-year guarantee. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied within that time, simply return it to us and we will gladly exchange it, or give you a full refund or credit.
* Tropical plants are not guaranteed to survive the winter and shipping / packing charges are not refundable.
