Feeds & Nutrition - abridged by M.E. Ensminger and C. G. Olentine. First edition, 3rd printing 1980. 824 pages. Publ.Ensminger Publishing. Although the enormous size and scope of this book make the title sound a little ridiculous, it is used to emphasize that the text concentrates on the practical aspects of feeding farm animals while leaving out the technical details of more interest to researchers than to farmers. Even so, there are plenty of statistics here for the data hungry reader. However, it is an eminently practical book which is exactly what one expects from the acknowledged authority on livestock production. Except for some faint tan stains on the dedication and copyright pages, the interior is in near mint condition. The bright red cloth cover is also in excellent condition except for very minor wear at the corners and spine ends.
