A beautiful all original Lakpa Lama signed Vajra Thangka Painting from Nepal. I brought it back with me from my last trip there. Real 24 K gold and pure silver paint were used in its creation. Although small, it is has incredible, fine detail and took a long time to make. Actually the the precision of this artist is really a cut above and I had to pay a little more wholesale than high quality other paintings of the same size, but if you study the pictures and get a Lakpa Lama painting I'm sure you will agree the slightly higher price was well worth it.

Two gold vajras provide a powerful spiritual focal point for the mandala. Surrounding the vajra symbols we have eight powerful symbols which include:

1. Chakra or Wheel ( Represents the unity of all things and is a symbolic representation of Shakyamuni himself. This symbol is very common to be located over the entrances of most Monasteries in Tibet )

2. Conch Shell ( It is called the trumpet of victory and symbolizes the spoken word. In the Epic of Mahabharata, the conch shell was blown in the beginning of battle.

3. Lotus Flower ( Symbolizes Purity. The Buddha nature growing out of the mud swamp of the mundane world. Lotus is ultimate goal of enlightenment. It also points out that the law is free from earthly matters )

4. Banner ( Symbolizes victory and fortune. Also proclaims the victory of good over evil )

5. Umbrella ( The symbol of early kingship, world rule and protection of religion

7. Vase or Kalash ( It represents a repository of wealth, good health and a long life )

8. Knot of Eternity ( The symbol of eternity and is the law without beginning and end. It is also called the lucky net representing the theories and philosophies of the universe ).

The Mandala is regarded as the most auspicious diagram in both Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. The preceptors, masters of the philosophy introduced them as a medium of worship to attain a better life free on from all sorts of worldly miseries. Mandalas are composed in various sketches in diagrams like a circle to indicate the whole universe.

This painting has very precise fine work and the canvas is in excellent shape as well. No noticeable flaws.

Who ever gets this painting is going to love it!
