Can eels really electrocute people? Do crocodiles really have tears? The authors try to answer these questions by using a "believe it or not" approach to describe the natural adaptations of plants and animals. Unfortunately, they are limited by the book's short-take format, which concentrates on oddities with no detail as to why or how these evolutionary adaptations occurred. While the authors' bibliography is comprehensive, there is no direct indication that these sources were used in the compilation of the book. Not recommended.
