American humorist. Will Rogers was widely loved by the American people from 1920s to 1930s for his simple philosophy and exposing the darkness of politics. He is also a famous film actor, a joint newspaper columnist and a radio commentator. Rogers was born in the Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) in a ranch near uluga of the Cherokee tribe. He has some Cherokee Indian blood. He once told an audience in Boston, "my grandparents didn't come across the ocean on the Mayflower, but they went to pick up the boat." Rogers left boarding school at 19 and became a cowboy in Texas. Later he went to Argentina and became a herder.
