General care: You are getting 1 European terrestrial orchid tuber, either dormant or starting to sprout. European terrestrial orchids have similar growing habit to commonly known Habenaria species, but in the different time of the year. European terrestrial orchids will be completely dormant for hot summer months. They start to sprout usually end of summer / beginning of the fall. They will grow actively during fall and winter with blooms appearing sometimes between spring to early summer. During it’s active growing season, new tuber or tubers should grow in the pot. Once plant is done blooming and growing, leaves start to yellow/brown and will fall off. Keep dormant tubers cool and dry till new sprouts appear. Grows great under cold to warm conditions, in bright light. As all terrestrial orchids, it must be grown potted. European terrestrials grow in soils rich in limestone, extra magnesium and calcium is recommended (MagiCal or dolomite powder). Best fertilizer for European terrestrials is “Fish Mix”. Great plan for indoor growing on windowsills or greenhouses and outdoors in proper zones.
