Quoted in Part from Introduction:
With fond memories of the past and enthusiasm for tomorrow’s world of food, we present this new cookbook.
“Cooking with Campbell’s” has long been a favorite byword among American homemakers who rely on a rewarding repertoire of high-quality convenience foods. Today there are many such foods, all designed to assist elegant and economic repasts for entertaining.
We offer this treasury of recipes and entertaining innovations with one favorite motto:
“To make the best, begin with the best - then cook with extra care.”
All of us love good food and like to dine well. But few have time to create complicated dishes which take hours of painstaking preparation.
Food is one of your prime concerns. As wife you “rule the roast” (at least until the master of the house moves the grill outdoors), as mother yhou care for the nourishment of the children. Of course, you are also shopper, always in the market for the budget-best. And as hostess you must provide gracious hospitality, keeping in mind the dictum of the famous French gastronome and writer, Brillat-Savarin, “To invite someone is to take charge of his happiness during the time he is under your roof.”
Today, by taking advantage of convenience foods available in intriguing and abundant variety, you can quickly prepare fine meals for family and guests. With carefully tested recipes and good planning it is easy to become a connoisseur of food and to entertain with distinction.
That’s what our book, “Campbell’s 100 Best Recipes,” is all about.
As our home economics staff was preparing for the 100th Anniversary of the Company, we reviewed our long experience in providing proven recipes and menus for American homemakers - as well as the response from many homemaker letters about their own favorites. It seemed timely now to pass along in one volume a collection of “100 Best Recipes” using condensed soups. The selection process was most difficult because of the great number of favorites in our test kitchen files. But we finally did choose the “100 Best Recipes” - while also including another 157 recipes equally appealing as the “100 Best.”
This book combines popular recipes from the past and contemporary selections, many internationally inspired.
You will find enticing ideas for entertaining, including menus for such enjoyable occasions as gala luncheons, weekend brunches, patio parties, buffets, barbecues, informal dinners, and late evening get-togethers.
The tastes of all ages and the demands of a wide variety of mealtime situations have been kept in mind. There are superb Souper-Snacks for children, Souperburgers for teenagers, casseroles for company, elegant entrees for luncheons, hearty dishes for men, savory selections for devotees of the outdoor barbecue, gastronomic creations for foreign food enthusiasts, and dining suggestions for the calorie-conscious crowd.
We hope this collection will assist you in enjoying them to the full, in entertaining successfully with economy and elegance, with fun and flair.

Book is Good with light rubbing of spine edges and corners, a ding on front cover bottom edge, and a surface rub upper front cover corner. Non-tanned glossy, not stock, pages are clean (except for a spot on inside front cover and ffe), tight to binding, no tears, no chips, no highlighting, no dog-ears, no remainder marks, not a library book, all pages appear to be intact & with no missing pages (*
so I cannot understand why there is no page with publication and copyright data; the book is too quality to be a book club edition! Just my humble opinion ... I wish they would have had the forethought to include in the Index a list of their soup types with corresponding recipe and page number ... how often do we have a Campbell's can of soup in the pantry, wondering what to do with it with the other staples we have on hand!
Books are NOT
from smoke-free or pet-free environment. Please see above FOUR
supersized images ... they are part of the description. Images were difficult to scan because the book is almost square and the flatbed is oblong, plus I didn’t want to press down to avoid shadows in fear of hurting the integrity of the hinges/joints.
