This lovely vintage porcelain trinket dish / motto plate features a Victorian-era Mom sitting on a chair and playing with her child next to a side chest with an urn holding a bouquet of flowers, with more floral trim underneath. The design is beautifully detailed in shades of pink, yellow, red, dark pink, and green. It says "Mothers are the most beautiful people in the world" in old-style black lettering. It has a scalloped edge trimmed in gold gilt.
The plate measures approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch high at its slightly raised rim. On the bottom is the original silver and black easel-shaped label that says "A Price Import Japan". It has one or two of the usual small manufacturing irregularities. There is some light shelf wear on the bottom foot and a very tiny amount of under-glaze crazing to be expected in a piece of this age. No chips, cracks, or other issues. The colors are vivid and unfaded and there is a nice high glaze. A sweet and unique gift for Mom!
